Will it make it easier on you now
You got someone to blame
U2 One

It’s said by some that Socialists eventually run out of other people’s money. With neo Liberalism it’s might be people to blame – if that is possible.

Its central construct is that all taxes and debts are the responsibility of taxpayers. The problem with this construct is it requires low interest rates to support the resulting debt mountain caused by transferring assets/subsidies to and inflating assets of the wealthy and debt to the populace. It requires Govt to cut back everything else to take on more debt from companies.

Thus with no solution since taxing the wealthy and rentier incomes not wage earners would be as anathema as it would be good Capitalism we have to blame someone and subject them to below normal standards of humanity, as after all it is their fault. Hence the unemployed who receive £2.4 Bn in Job Seekers Allowance are targeted when RBS gets that every year just in direct subsidy. There is talk of the health service not treating people who [over] consume legal products like cigarettes and foods designed to make you over eat.

In Europe the Greeks are targeted because after being imposed an unworkable deal, as the sane members of the IMF accept and the insane Lagarde does not, their economy is tanking. Europe seems to want them on a drip feed so they can never grow. This will of course involve selling off their assets cheap to the Wealthy and turning public services into a stream of income for German pension funds. Now because their debt has been nationalised by ECB and EU Govts they are subject to the political whims of economic illiterates who get elected pimping people to blame! For all the talk of Game Theory by Greece the only people using Game Theory here are the neo Liberals.

After the Greeks it will be Italy and Spain. Maybe the worry is if Greece gets a sustainable path they will want one too not one that ultimately leads to subjugation. Equally it could be any perceived positive for Greece will lead to the election of Govt’s less committed to blaming their own people and delivering the anodyne world for the majority that Christine Lagarde, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Gordon Brown and Tony Blair see as so desirable. The end result will be poverty the norm but if you join voluntary work camps you’ll get a bowl of rice after all your poverty is your fault. Conservatives go along with this nonsense too I think partly because it is veiled in the language of The Market and involves hating on the poor but also because for all the bluster and fibs they love to run all powerful States too.

Of course as said the neo Liberal world will be all about equality and as long as you’re not poor or a woman you’ll be OK or enough of you to vote correctly any rates.

It’s been 5 years but I think we should applaud Barack Obama. I don’t think if he’d set out to troll us he could have gone from an inspirational figure to an international figure of fun so quickly. Yes we can to Fuck you yes we have and yes we will Fuck you. From someone who talked of change to someone who boasts of his killing like a badge of honour. Whilst Reagan and others oversaw mass murder in South America like gleeful children killing suitably labeled people they did not boast of it as brazenly as Obama. They did not pile up the Pizza on Tuesday and play who shall we kill this week. Continue reading »

People will argue that the demonstrably incompetent Gordon Brown a man who made anti intellectualism a goal of government was thrown out because he was not likeable. This is clearly not true. People take the least risk or when they feel there is no perceived risk then maybe it’s a beauty contest that the despicable Blair beat Major in. At the time Blair was not the broken gibbering clown he is now flouncing a massive income off the world’s mass murderers but a vibrant bouncey character for a Britain seemingly reviving culturally and economically. Blair also promised economically to be the Tories without the nasty rhetoric at single mothers, ethnic minorities and the Europeans – all of which Labour under Brown became when their bubble economics burst. The Tories now use PFI, Bailouts and funny money bubbles as much as Labour.

The point is that whilst people distrust Govt most will vote for the most competent sounding in this time of crisis. Thus  Blair when it was his duty became unpopular propagating others wars. I do believe that it was his weak conformist nature and lack of character rather than a conscious decision to do something stupid. Similarly Obama who has gone from joyous crowds to the sad pathetic pariah in Germany in 5 years when it was time to back the wars and control freakery he caved and within days of taking over.

However popularity counts for nought. Paint your opposition as incompetent and you’re in. At present Cameron faces a grim opposition of chancers called Ed and has even seen the Tories double support in the Under 30s – those not prejudiced by the hateful bigotry of the Thatcher years.

Ironically for John Major the perceived comfort of Britons such that Tories fought over Europe and to satisfy their own venality were the reasons he lost. Hard times may actually be good for business especially as the poor and intelligent switch off from the rhetorical crap of the main parties leaving the nasty, selfish and stupid middle to vote.

John Major followed her and was the last pragmatist. Since then we’ve had a grim trio of greedy venal narcissists in Blair, Brown and Cameron. By comparison she looks a paragon of doing what she actually thought was right not just right for her and her family’s future wealth although clearly Mark Thatcher was well rewarded. I’ve clearly removed any doubt her premiership was anything but poor in results here but am ambivalent at the hate figure of my teens.

Whilst the current precipitous state of the economy could be traced from the Thatcher years they did not have to become disastrous but for Brown’s chancellorship with its fellatio of the Banks. This nailed Britain to becoming a declining power with an Italian 1970’s currency. Whilst themes from her era and mistakes still haunt us it has been the hubris and extension of them which has hurt us so much. It is the belief she did much right that is wrong.

You can hardly blame Thatcher anymore than Keynes for the stupidity of Gordon Brown and Ed Balls. She died today long after anyone should care either way she just was not that good or bad 20 years on.

It’s an oddity but charity has become the refuge or obfuscation for the scoundrel. Lance Armstrong and the far more vile Jimmy Savile used the power of fame and charity to achieve their monetary and sexual goals respectively.

Depraved ex ministers Blair, Brown and now David Miliband hide their post Govt pay offs for work done behind charity. These men’s morality and charity best exemplified by conniving with Libya to have people tortured and rendered and a convicted murderer let off so BP could make money. There were of course other vile offenses but sucking the toes of Gaddafi is enough without ranting on. It will surprise no one that Miliband’s charity apparently receives substantial payments from the UK taxpayer.

The only real debate was for me does Miliband have a sinecure? My pal reckons it’s a place to park knowing his equally depraved but allegedly even more stupid brother Ed will be the next PM and David won’t get a shot for 6 years. The Times claim he is far more supportive of a reforming agenda which is of course meaningless pap. The only difference between Tory and Labour is the speed of disillusioning the punters. The direction is the same the speed of travel the argument whichever Miliband is in nominal command of the Labour party.

For me on David Miliband the only point I’d like to make is don’t come back you sick puppy.

Was chatting with someone the other day and they gave praise to Bill Clinton or Clair as we call him for copying Tony Blair. OK OK Blinton was Blair and the tedious what actually came first Clinton or Blair ruins a bad pun. In fact as it’s worked out so badly let’s call “The 3rd Way” [T3W] Clintonomics and blame the US as usual. Continue reading »

George Monbiot did it the other and said ‘The Tories’. A lot of people do it. Most of them well aware that Labour is not an alternative but a continuation with nicer rhetoric, less incompetence (although so incompetent I would not call it a strength) but a worse toy throwing that led to bank bailouts and QE that will blight our economy for at least 1 decade.

The left by use the term “The Tories” when everything from Schools, student fees to Health-care policy is a continuation of the anti intellectual meme Govt from 1997. It owes far more to Blair than Major. The anti Intellectual meme is deep into its 15th year. Arguably rather than the stealth bill year after year to meet the needs of rhetoric at least The Tories, oops, put on the table where they want to go. The Labour Govt wanted the same things but would not dare tell its supporters.

One can understand why people use language to unite the left many of whom labour under misapprehensions about Labour. However from the Poll Tax to Forestry it is not Labour who achieves anything in opposition – it’s not their aim. the Students who marched and got to hear a speech from the miserable Ed Miliband only for him to shaft them weeks later. Indeed with Labour volte-facing its economic policies their support can turn to opposition over night. It is better to make it clear in any demo or organisation to fight Govt to tell Labour fans they are welcome but they park their support for Labour at the door.

The correct nomenclature is “Parliament”, the Tories are not the issue.

Having to listen to US politicians mostly of a Republican nature is hard. They will say how they are guided by the Lord and rattle on at the need for us to nuke I-ran and how abortion is more evil than ummmhh evil. How killing people even via state sanctioned means is worthy of a boast!  Worth cheering your state is so full of murderers you had to kill 500 yourself. Continue reading »

David Cameron probably considers himself an intelligent person with values. He has tended to float without an anchor able to lead both Conservative Party and Coalition. He has at times shown magnificent ignorance and been prepared to accept the UK’s past as an imperial power whose malign influence lies behind many of the world’s problems. Continue reading »
