The idea that mass surveillance of the internet at vast cost and examining almost everything that is not piped movies* and other streams has anything to do with terrorism is clearly wrong.

The conceit is that this is a discussion of Freedom v Security. Yet law enforcement is more danger to the average American in America. Bee stings are. It’s unclear how this surveillance of Americans and allies helps and if there was even one example anyone think this most pragmatic of Administrations would not leak it? It leaked it could track al Quaeda communications last week** which would appear to be stupid to warn them!

There is no security issue here. The UK/US have more than enough laws to spy on the right people with minimal change in security. This is not about security but the rights of venal weak politicians to keep feeding parasitic corporations like BAE Systems, Booz Allen and General Dynamics and be fed back.

Worst for me is the idea that collecting vast troves of data will ever be helpful. Reliance on Big Data and phishing will make processes and procedures predictable – less better quality data wins every time.

The only discussion here is Freedom v Corporate Parasites’ Profits. It’s obvious who the Cameron Govt, GOP, ‘Crats et al favour and it’s the former.

* The Obama Administration’s claim of 1.6% of traffic laughable given what traffic is. Seriously anyone who considers the Administration anything but malevolent and mendacious can only be because it’s stupid, incompetent and knows less than Guardian readers.

** Shows how absurd and vengeful for being shown as a stooge for Big Weapons and NSA The Obama Administration is. An Administration that leaks classified and damaging top secret documents like they’re coupons for free fries claims telling people what is being done against them is spying for the enemy. As the chief spokesperson said “We don’t read your emails” again 2 providers of encrypted email closed down as the Jackboots of the NSA closed in. Again The Administration thinks it is talking to who? Morons?

An aide to the Czech PM used Military Intelligence to spy on his wife.

The NSA gives intelligence to compliant tech firms and targets hot beds of terrorism like German industry.

This stuff can never be abused clearly so I apologise to Barack Obama and Eric ‘Cup’ Holder for implying otherwise.

Talking of Traitors Senator Feinstein probably the person who most convinced me that in terms of who is President what happens in US Govt we’re choosing between salt pots, spokespeople and who gets the graft.

Specifically, for at least 15 years, Feinstein has appeared to support government contracts that push federal funds toward companies co-owned or governed by her powerful, billionaire husband, Richard C. Blum

The people calling others traitors generally speaking have done very well out of ‘public’ service.

Policemen undercover in mainly peaceful protest groups exercising their supposed democratic rights have apparently been dead beat dads. Running away and losing their identity. They’ve not paid maintenance. They’ve been the 2nd rate scum one would expect from a 3rd rate person who would spy on normal citizens.  Continue reading »

It’s shocking how quickly the knees have jerked over the recent spell on looting and fire bombing. People reach instantly for the need for the army or water cannon even though this is not a demonstration to control but sporadic outbreaks of almost guerrilla looting. Indeed many liberal people sat at home in their impotence at this suddenly become weak and demand everything be done. People even commenting this does not happen in Syria!  Continue reading »

It’s funny how we in Britain like to get all superior over other countries barbaric legal practices.  I am sure in some Scandinavian country this morning they are prattling about a Neanderthal island where they charge, try, brutalise and publicise a supposed attempted rape by 10 year olds and subject 8 year olds to sustained cross examination about things they know nothing about. They then scar those children for life with the nonsense of making them sign the Sex Offenders register when they may not even know what Sex is!

I am not even sure what the concept of rape and attempted rape means to a 10 and 11 year old but clearly a lot of highly educated judges and lawyers do. I am not even sure I was able to at that age.

Regardless of one’s view of the age of criminal responsibility Courts are not places for children.  This was not a suitable, relevant or necessary piece of justice. All involved should frankly not have to make decisions like this again as all are inadequate. Had the judges and lawyers refused the case it did not have to happen. This is not all on the depraved prosecutor.

Nor should a responsible media have reported this quite so widely. The worst was the TV news who did not give details but talked like adults embarrassed by a question from a child. If you cannot cover the story like adults then why cover it at length in no depth?

I wonder if destroying 3 young lives will convince the prosecutors and others to stop charging 10 year olds like adults. The media will be voracious no doubt forcing the state to spend money preventing the naming of these children in the future.

However the most pitiable image I am left with by this is 2 bemused children signing the sex offenders register. Will they now be taken away from their families baffled and scared? Tracked like nonces for the rest of their lives? Idiocy does not begin to describe it.

13 years of reactionary New Labour determinism on crime reduced to this barbaric circus.
